Ta. Will check Morrisons - wasn't really on my radar. Our local T*sco was rubbish, when I popped in on the off-chance - basically poinsettias or nothing.

i have 4 monstera cuttings all well established with at least 8 leaves on each potted in some good rich garden compost, put one in a large pot with a support and you'll have a 10ft monster-a in a couple of years

I used to keep fish. Always wanted to have a discus tank, never got around to it.
That looks great.

Completely missed this when you replied. I’d be very interested in one, if they’re still about?

any chance of those pics? I'm moving house and fancy a tank like this

Anyone found a good way of dealing with mealybugs? I get them on succulents periodically (they fly in the window in summer and can't stop them arriving).

Pyrethrum insecticide? Don't the little sh*ts get down into the soil also, so surface treatments have to be reapplied periodically to properly get rid?
-

Yeah plus they've got that fuzzy coating that protects them from the first blast of the pesticide.

Houseplant beginner!
With my monstera, I'd love it to grow more upwards and less outwards. Got a bigger pot to repot it shortly, would that do the trick or does it need a moss pole? Tried a make shift moss pole out of a broken cricket stump
With my peace Lilly, it is leafy and massive now. Don't really want to give it a bigger pot because I don't want it to grow much more. Is chopping some leaves at the base of the stem stupid?

Fruit flys / fungus gnats ?
Seems like pretty big lavi(?) for such little flies.
I know cactus can usually survive low temps, but as this one only lives indoors do you think there's any risk?

A couple of days in a cold outdoor toilet and they looked dead. Unfortunately it came back to life in my warm hand.
I read about some sort of plant bleach. Anyone hear or used something similar?

One of my best mates ordered me a peace lily for my bday as we live in different cities. Mad over packaging, but nice thought! Given it a big water and some sunlight because it's come from Holland in a box.

I can trim one of the babies and start again?
yes!
-
• #347
Ok, I'm gonna try that
-
• #348
You can:
- chop off the babies and repot them
- chop the head/top off the main plant, let the cut bit dry out for a few days, then repot it, it will root.
- take all the leaves off the beheaded plant and let them dry out for a few days, then lay on compost on a warmish light windowsill, they will turn into tiny babies, then you can pot them up also.
- chop off the babies and repot them

I think those guys are centipedes rather than a caterpillars. The saw is possibly an overkill method of getting rid of them. Were they eating the cactus? They may have been eating other bugs..

eating the other bugs that were eating the cactus
I saw some decent looking monstera in morissons (peckham) last weekend for £10.
