  • I am becoming frustrated by other people not being able to not be dicks.

Clearly we are asking to much of the common idiot.

  • Yep that's Pen Ponds Cafe in Richmond Park, not the Lake District.

  • Don’t know if it’s company policy can only imagine it is.

You'd hope so and soon .
This turn up and hope what you need will be on the shelves and then its not so try another outlet etc. creating more people out and about.

  • I know this is a radical idea but could people check stuff is actually correct before they post it in this thread?

The misinformation really isn't helping anyone.

  • Correct.
Pen Ponds cafe in Richmond Park.

    EDIT: X-post with Fox

  • Thought. So.

If the staff are being hygienic and people keeping their distance will Corona jump from one to the other?

It is a lovely day for exercise. Body and mind.

It is nose, eyes and mouth. As long as we are not in contained spaces sharing the same equipment.

  • It is but everyone else has just been turning up anyway, so it's a complete farce.

  • I dont disagree that the tories are doing the best they can (obviously not good enough) but at the same time its their fault the systems like the NHS are failing. So essentially they are undoing the crisis they created and getting a gold star for it. Its Boris' first year so it depends how many people forget it all in 4 years time at next GE. He is obviously doing his populist bullshit with 'we will get it done in 12 weeks'.

Labour .. lets not even go there; that hypothetical question is going to go nowhere.

Panic buying can be culled by strong leadership and communication IMO. The policy U turns have completely confused people and they are doing what they do best, eat pasta and shit loads.

  • I asked for how long you'd been socially isolating, and you said 10 days. The answer would have been "0 days, I've been socially distancing."

And my original point is that it seems like a lot of people want stricter policies but aren't willing to practice them.

  • But you recognise that @jimm is doing all he can and he can't control his house mate right? Your criticism seems a little unfair.

  • Ahh fairs sorry my mistake. I have been practising all the policies I have asked for btw, you can hardly blame me having to share a space with housemates who aren’t socially distancing.

  • Look at what we've got for our government. Look at Brexit. People are idiots.

  • I’ve been looking at it in the light of NHS staff actually getting supplies being a good thing.

I’m ignoring the queueing situation for now.

  • policy U turns have completely confused people

But they really haven't been u turns. We've had a steady tightening of restrictions over 3 weeks.

  • I thought it looked like RP! But I don't know the cafe's name and didn't bother checking.

  • It's a chat thread. We all chat bollocks. Apply normal filters.

  • Yes. It's a good initiative. People are selfish cunts though. (to be generous, maybe they hadn't seen the NHS staff only announcements)

  • Panic buyers can be culled

Says the anecdotal poster from the Daily Mail

  • Doing the compare and contrast on world webcams. Italy and Spain absolutely deserted

    Brighton

  • I actually thought that Mail article was surprisingly OK, it had posts from real scientists in and everything! And I did caveat at it. But I do think it's interesting to read the experiences of confirmed cases, especially for those of us who think we've got it but aren't going to get tested.

  • It's not a normal situation though is it?

I do think it's important to try not to confuse the public health advice. It's complex enough already.

  • Hackney and Walthamstow marshes extra packed with middle-class white people cycling, walking, and generally getting in my way. And the African church was doing a roaring business.

  • Ah shit so non nhs staff were also shopping?

  • I get the feeling that a lot of people will only pay attention if some celebrities/public figures contract and die from Covid, and I imagine it’s only a matter of time.

Perhaps people would stay the fuck at home if people like Bobby Charlton, David Attenborough, Steven Fry, or the Queen got gravely ill with it.
