Bolt cutters. They do it. Just be careful to wear eye protection as the ends fly.

How many shekels sir?
-
• #1105
only london pounds, no currency outside of M25 accepted

I've got a few groats I can take to Poundland later I suppose.

I concur with the method and the protection. The ends absolutely go flying so do not miss the goggles/safety specs.
I have a nice small pair in SE1 if you'd like to borrow.

Drape a rag or jumper over it, otherwise you'll shatter a window or it'll ricochet off a wall eye protection or not!

• #1111
are you selling complete or would you consider splitting? I am interested in the frame

Can anyone advise what size tires I'll clear on a 2017 TdF? Currently running Marathon Plus 35 on the stock 700c Rhyno rims with guards, but looking for something bigger and slicker (without guards) for a summer tour later in the year.
-
• #1113
Mud guards or not? Marathons are usually bigger than regular tyres of the same size due to the extra tyre compound.
Post a photo of your current clearance?
-
• #1114
i think if you have 35s and guards on currently, 42s should fit. I would recommend sport contact 2s from planetx in 42mm :)

Did you find out if 47mm worked with guards? I’ve got some 47mm but I’be got to wait for my wheelset to find out.

Just fitted these 650b 47mm WTB byways.. they have about 5mm clearance at the back upper and lower stays.. No issues up front.. Excuse the saddle, it will be swapped for a black charge spoon when I get a chance...

I have about 3mm with the horizons and the day one. What width do your tyres actually measure? The horizons come up at 50mm

https://www.lfgss.com/comments/12011615/ this post from the depths of time suggests you can fit 2.0 AND mudguards in a CDF somehow

would like to know more about your kitchen (who made the units) and your parquet flooring

not really much info on this on the net. found this guy who built a croix de fer with guards and 42mm 650b tires. looks very tight in my opinion.

Weight of an 2020 Croix de Fer 725 Frameset size XS for the book:
Kitchen scale says 2165g frame (with all screws that come standard, seatpost clamp and cable guide) + 1306g fork (uncut).
Also flattened part of chainstay is noticeably wider than on my exact-same geometry Day One (2016). Should be suited a tiny bit better for fatter 650b tires, for 700c it shouldn't really matter - maybe one or two mm difference if at all.
Color is more like a brownish rust metallic color with room lights. With sunlight it really looks like the sparkly bright orange metallic you see on the net.

I've just purchased an Equilibrium frame with on of those fancy thru axles, would this be a 142mm spacing?
