  • Annoyances: being up since 6
    Taking kids to school.
Running to sainos and doing a sensible bag of shopping shop
Getting a coffee getting home sorting laundry

  • Sitting down to work and realising your fucking power source is at work

  • Sigh

  • Have a smart trainer setup at work, work alone so can go and live down there if I need to (kitchen/office/toilet/biological bike parts washer is the same as a shower right?/turbo trainer/sofa bed and biggest wood burner you've ever seen). Only 2 toilet rolls there though and 3 cans of soup, so probably only last a few days. There is also approx 6 weeks of work in form of used bikes/project bikes/3 cars to fix/2 motorbikes to fix + place needs a vacuum (honestly 2 days work its massive place). Its a legit option should it come to that.

Out on a dog walk this morning, suns out, usual suspects out with the usual dogs but all consciously keeping 2 metres or so apart. Might take camera out and get some photos of the quietness in the streets.

  • Does the aero seat post make it faster?

  • Only if you put it on a treadmill.

  • WAFC

    Abject selfishness and stupidity abound.

  • Well that's me working from home from tomorrow onwards. Never had to before so really no idea what to expect at all. Hoping to 'make the most of it' I suppose, plan to still get up as usual and head out on my bike in the morning before logging on to replace the commute, and on my lunch break hopefully I'll get out on the bike for the hour too for a bit more exercise and to get me out and about in some fresh air to avoid the cabin fever.

  • For what laptop?

  • I think someone legal here (danstuff?) said that DIY wills generate huge amounts of work for probate lawyers as they are often dreadfully done.

Ah, here it is (in the Wills thread, and not by danstuff): https://www.lfgss.com/comments/7300413/

  • Still working in London office at the moment in Oval, think the office will close by the COP today after everyone has set up their laptops to enable to work from home.

  • Jan Albert, a microbiologist at Karolinska, had been quoted by Tidningarnas Telegrambyrå (a news agency) as saying on Friday that the Swedish authorities´ decision to refrain from school closures was the right way to go.

Patrick Vallance was mentioned in the article.

"This is interesting because the British are world leaders in [the field of] infectious [disease] epidemiology. They are very smart, and this shows that we in Sweden are on the right track," Albert told TT.

He also told privately owned broadcaster TV4 that (full?) shool closures would work only in a totalitarian country.

  • Cheers.

By coincidence we have a midwife appointment today so hopefully (assuming it goes ahead) we'll get some clarity there. My girlfriend has been sent home from work this morning so that's allayed some of her fears and we're in a position where we should be OK if we do have to isolate.

It was just the way it was announced that pregnant women need to take extra care but we're not giving you details of exactly how.

  • that's a beautiful setup....

  • Me too, exactly that situation. Is trying to make it home now.

  • In a statement issued today, Finland´s health ministry urged regional authorities to close schools and to ban gatherings of more than 10 people.

The government had invoked the Emergency Powers Act (1522/2011) yesterday.

Edit: the PM did announce school closures at a news conference yesterday.

  • Sigh

Don’t forget to take photo of your feets!

  • WHSmith sell an easy diy Will kit.

  • That would be awesome if I had space.

Beware though - I already gave myself "chest pains" after doing a bunch of push-up variations out of boredom working in my lounge. :D

  • And yes, the hospitality industry shouting about protecting it.

My feeling that them doing it also raise attention to everything else that need protection.

  • I got my replacement KICKR on Friday so the spare Computrainer is packed away again. I've still got my FluidPro if things get really bad and we lose electricity during the zombie apocalypse.

  • Sorry to hear that.

  • It probably adds at least 10%.

I think it's more likely it's that shape to stop side to side movement when sprinting or putting more power down in the saddle.
