Most pension funds start transferring your funds from stocks to cash in the 5-7 years before retirement, so most people should be okay.

My pension man said most do this automatically and take no account of market conditions. Ie You could be unlucky and it’s transferred the day after a big crash.

Yeah they don’t transfer the whole lot in one day.

In exceptional circumstances- now - the pension manager and the investment team would step in.
