Was wondering when this was going to get posted. The extra mounts on the sides of the downtube I think are cool provided they work on all frame sizes. But the six mounts on each side of the fork seems unnecessary. I kind of wish that they'd just gone with the steel fork that was on the prototypes ridden by Jesse and Sarah.

No gearbox
No dropper post
No aero rims
No tri bars
Other than that, I think we're getting there

What. It doesn't even have a suspension fork.

Who needs suspension when you have 600 bottle cage mounts?

What. It doesn't even have a suspension fork.
It got the aura of a suspension fork.

I kind of want to hate it, but I'm madly in love with it.

When you see where some of those Curveโs are ridden, youโll understand why they want to carry so much water. Those fork mounts can also carry other packs.

And the typical Curve rider can transport twice the amount of tinnies/natural wine to Eddy gardens on a Friday arvo.

Not sure how can anyone have a problem with this bike.
'Too many mounts' is petty even by OnHere standards.

That's true, but people have done that sort of stuff with 2 x 10L bladders in their Ortliebs before bikepacking was a thing. Looks like a fine touring bike though.

Thats some sick carving going on there.... on a straight road, at low speed.

• #10589
No problems here. I'd love one!

Didnโt @veganjoseph do this on a Dolan FXE?

Going through the middle of Aus is a lot different to doing a lap round the edge. No disrespect to Joseph, there are some long, service-free stretches but you have the benefit of a coastal climate and being relatively populated for most of it.

Ditto, riding with wide wide drop is so much fun.

To think those rims came from this bike

I guess that's ^ the way gravel bikes are going anyway

2000km put on my arkose since August. Mostly through mud and boulder fields of the North West with occasional gravel sections found. Starting to question whether it's environmentally (and a lesser extent financially) sustainable compared to road biking.
3 chains - I almost always give these a quick rag clean and relube before using again. Am I doing it wrong?
6 sets of brake pads (5 resin, 1 sintered) - I don't remember going through as many on my mountain bike but then I guess the bike is being used differently which could explain the increased wear.
new chaing rings - snapped tooth on the big ring - must have smashed it on something but the teeth are also looking pretty shagged.
1 rear tyre - Wtb riddler middle nobs almost disappeared - doesn't inspire much confidence but arguably fine to continue to use?

3 chains in 2k km wtf? 6 sets of brake pads? No idea of the terrain but it seems like a lot

I've been getting through quite a lot of brake pads this winter, just because of the wet weather. I'm getting around 2000km out of a set, although my commute doesn't require much braking (nearly traffic-free).
Chain wear rates will vary hugely based on a large number of factors. Too much lube can be as bad as too little, picking up dirt and then working like cutting fluid. Also mashing a high gear, etc etc. 3 chains in 2000km is very unusual. I do know someone who used to get through them at around that rate. He is built like a fridge though. -

I'm not sure if its just the mud paste here that wears everything out - I have tended to ride through some fairly atrocious weather - had to change both sets of pads on one ride - only had 1 spare and had to buy some whilst out.
Got a cadence sensor recently so will look and see if I'm mashing a big gear but I doubt it, I'm probably not great at keeping an optimum chain line. Re lubing - using a wet lube (finish line I think) and dropping per link and cleaning off excess.
I'm usually all for buying more bike bits but it is frustrating..put in a bulk order of pads.
But cutting the thread removes a tiny bit of extra material...
