  • skiing? Would it be completely stupid to try and bring a GW690 out for a day?

    yes

  • I mean.. if you do have to ask then the answer is yes

    : ]

  • As someone who carried an RB67 around on many climbing trips, you could definitely do it.
I can suggest many reasons why it’s a bad idea, which are all pretty obvious.
But it all comes down to you - I’ve got quite a few photos that just wouldn’t be the same on 35mm as a result of lugging the thing around, but you’re definitely putting the camera at risk, and it also may end up staying in your bag the whole time.

  • GW690

Amazing landscape or group photo camera! Do it. Watch out for condensation though.

  • Some half frame fun in Houston.

You gotta be happy with those? Colours are a battle with any scanner but those look ... frankly ... fucking great in detail and depth to me. These are great scanners.

(too much magenta in the 4th one maybe)

Really like the 2nd shot. The muted Colorplus look suites these IMO.

  • I am indeed happy, I used vuescan and their film profiles for colours, some small contrast applied and crops done via Photoshop and saved as a jpg file. I said testing as this is the second roll on the XA (bought for £10 non working due to missing shutter button cover) and I think the range finder is slightly out of adjustment as the focusing seems a bit off on other shots ( maybe Im being picky here, but will try an slr for that extra sharpness ) this was the first time using the scanner properly other than deciding which software to use tests, and I follow @platypus recommendation of reading http://alibosworth.com/technical/ so this scans have only been done at 1350dpi which plenty left to be able to experiment. Overall, I'm very happy ,I thought the process was going to take longer than a flatbed where 12 images can be scan but it feels rather a quick process with the Minolta. Oh, here is the best part, bought it on Facebook market place for stupid money ( for parts/ non working / as it is ) person couldn't be bother to get vuescan/silverfast, so I took the opportunity and now have a working scanner for very little money.

    Thanks @miro_o for the comments.

  • Rockets is excellent, love that. Hope you’ve framed them at home in a line.

  • A couple of prints I’ve been working on recently. I’m new to the darkroom (and film photography in general) but I’m really enjoying it, wish I could get in there every day!

  • Second one is great! What camera and film?

  • I think we use the same darkroom! Lol.

  • Had time to scan some of my 4x5 shots today, very therapeutic and rewarding to see film come to life. Below was taken with a Chamonix 45 & Schneider Kreuznach 210mm on Portra 400.

  • Cheers! Taken on a Pentax P30 and Ilford HP5

  • Haha no way! Its a cool place, definitely recommend for anyone living in Leeds and looking for a place to print. airestreetdarkroom.co.uk

  • Outstanding clouds, nice shot !

  • Cheers, didn't see those pesky telephone wires in the ground glass.

  • got any more? are you getting them developed at a lab and scanning yourself?
