I wouldn't use anything, if the BBC is reporting that making your own sanitiser is a waste of time then that's good enough for me. I think the point the expert is making is that stuff you have lying around at home won't work.
I very much agree with you on this
It should be in addition
to hand washing in situations where there is no soap and water available. But I think there's concern that some people think sanitiser is an alternative to hand washing. Which I can well believe, unfortunately.

But this needs to be explained properly and repeatedly, not just engage with dumbest
opinions they can find and then stay on that level. Didn't work with Brexit. -

@Jingle_Jangle Didn't even think of that permutation +rep and @mmccarthy funny and pedantry too ++rep.

What will the people who drink hand sanitiser drink now?

You mean the shop Iceland? Or the country?

Why would one wipe a fungus toast on a chromebook?
-
• #1760
And how many chromebooks did they wipe them on?

Wasn’t arguing with your point. Just that on top of panic buying mean those on lower income may not be able to get their weekly/daily shopping due to lack of product.

Or are they telling us that hand sanitizer makes a great condiment?

In an alarming development, Dr Nattino said younger patients were being affected, saying the ages of patients ranged from 46 to 83 with only a small number having important underlying conditions.
He added: “The last days are showing a younger population involved as if the elderly and weaker part of the population crashed early and now younger patients, having exhausted their physiological reserves, come to overcrowded, overwhelmed hospitals with little resources left.” -

It's basically impossible to read anything on the independent, worst website ever.

Good to hear you're better.

Of course I meant the shop, especially the branch in Wood Green loo paper and hand sanitiser stock levels. I panic bought a 4 pint bottle of milk (£1) and 20 large eggs (£1.60).
Think it is the idea that keyboards are not cleaned, so wash your hands more especially if you have been typing. Also bread not toast...

haha, you are right, I turned off my blocking extensions and it's horrific.

There is no bread in that picture.

My old workplace taught us to sanitise if there was no visible dirt and wash if there was...
Also got a shiver at the mention of fecal eruptions... We had a client come in who was clearly very ill, was puking and shitting by 10am... A colleague and I gave him a full change and wash, used a whole packet of wet wipes on the poor fella... I was wearing a plastic apron, gloves and a mask, there was shit and puke fucking everywhere... I was so traumatised afterwards I needed to take a thirty minute break and smoke half a dozen fags...
There are some things I don't miss about being a support worker...
And I wondered why I was always sick in that job?!?

Sorry Ed.
Bit grumpy this morning.
Thought it was battle of the bands over something. -

Denmark ruled Iceland up until the early 1900s. So, when some think we
are not a part of that culture it can upset some people.http://www.iamreykjavik.com/iceland-part-scandinavia-nordic-country

11/10 smug
12/10 smug - we have old face cloths & towels cut and hemmed into reusable wipes, pre-dampened in old plastic containers.

Time for a fixie preppers thread?
Excellent to know I’ve got some currency if it goes a bit Mad Max.
