  • Maybe just get a battery light?

I supliment a dynamo with a head mounted diablo at night or if proper off road a big front battery light and head light.

  • trade account with sjs! 33% off!

Do SJS still do this? Called up the other week and was told it’s 5% off 😂

  • You will receive a 33% trade discount on all Jtek Engineering, Sun Rims, Schmidt dynamo, and some SJSC and all Thorn Cycles products (except complete bikes which attract only a 5% discount).

Robert Axle Project - 25% discount.

    Sinewave products - 20% discount.

Selected Ryde / Rigida rims and Rido saddles - 15% discount.

All other parts will attract a basic 5% discount.

Brompton parts attract no discount, sorry!

  • Ah gotcha! Was rohloff bits so that’s why :)

  • Do you not have the E3 Triple 2 though? My plan was to supplement with a head torch/battery lights but it's for Badlands. Times I was on shit road/offroad at night in the TAW I felt the E3 Pro 2 was a bit weak, especially at slow speeds.

Don't want to throw money at it, but I figure a decent battery light will be spendy too.

  • I use a exposure revo now. I've an e3 triple in a box, you could borrow it for badlands.

badlands dynamo will be fine, it's easy surface and rideable.

  • Thanks for digging this out. Exactly what I'm after. I still have my Talbot light mount but it was for my mudguards.

Edit: that instagram is dead. time to keep digging...

  • This is for a Brompton but could work. But instead of using it to reach over the caliper, use it to hang under my fork. Only five dollars. Worth a shot.

  • I've bodged a few things using those, I don't think it'll have enough reach

  • @amey
You ever found a solution to dynamo light at the fork crown with the TRP brakes?

  • I did for @Cycliste's winter bike. Just put the mount in a vice and squashed it a bit so the light sits a bit higher up. It's tight, but it clears.

  • Got my Supernova back yesterday and want to do a better job of wiring it up than last time.

(last time I used clipped brake ferrules wrapped in electrical tape as connectors... it worked).

Should I get myself some spade or bullet connectors? Will I be increasing resistance into the circuit with those? #notsureIcouldevenwireaplug

  • Will I be increasing resistance into the circuit with those?

With spades or bullets? No, they'll be fine

  • Nice one - so just 4x sets of m/f for the below setup? (running to the rear as well)

  • Yep, should be absolutely fine. The standard connectors on the lights are spades. TvH has the neatest I've seen:

  • Get yourself a tool that crimps properly too, it's a right faff without

  • anyone had an issue with water ingress on a Supernova E3 triple? I have noticed a nice little pool behind the lens- seems to be working OK for now. I have sent a message to Supernova but wanted a heads up to their customer service.

  • New supernova light on used wheel. Went out today and all was OK for 5 mins. After that the light stopped working. What is strange is that of flickers at low speed but then stops working completely when I go above 20k-ish, just the stand light.

  • Looking for a suggestion on how to mount a dyno light to a suspension fork.

    It's not drilled.

  • Photo of fork please?

  • Like this.

  • Does it have to be on the fork? Id just mount it to the bars

  • He's running an ortileb bar bag that obscures the useful area.

I'm actually thinking a 3d printed mount that cable ties onto the fork crown might be easy enough to knock up at work.
