• Is Tottenham near Ikea too far from you?

  • Not really, do you know someone?

  • Might be a bit late to the party, but when I needed a frame re-done I found this https://www.flickr.com/photos/pure-bros-cycles/albums Flickr page pretty helpful, all the individual photos are tagged with the RAL colour code - the bikes all have minimal logos so it's a good way to see how the colour works on a bike and the photos are nicely arranged - an exercise in functional German efficiency

  • Aurum finishing Ltd what is their contact details?

  • Best to email stayer cycles. It's where yo drop off the kit anyway.

  • Yeah, there was a place. More industrial and if you're not in a hurry.

But after the massive fire on that estate I have yet to go back and look if he is up and working again.

  • Or Clever Mike if that's closer to you @Zebra_Cyclist

  • Armourtex on Hackney Road or Rodman Bros in Tottenham.

Use the search next time though šŸ˜˜

  • Armourtex have moved from Hackney, and no longer owned by the same people.

    @hippy mergatron

  • Merge into what?

@hippy there are many threads that you could merge....epic friday thread merge

  • Not entirely true.

  • Oh sorry, which bit?

  • Bun armourtex, they have different owners and don't know what they're doing with bike frames any more in my experience. Steve from Armourtex runs Aurum Finishings now. Stayer Cycles get frames picked up by him weekly AFAIK. Use him, he's been bang on for me and I've used him for years at multiple shops and on personal jobs.

  • Ended up merging 2 threads into this 12 year old beast.

  • News just in....

Stayer are happy to act as a drop off and collection point for Aurum as he goes here a lot but they don't take any cut or do any of the pricing and communications.

Two shops that might do that for you are Cloud 9 and Clever MIke however, might be worth asking them if either are close to you.
Aurum are also a little bit tricky to get a hold of sometimes so that might also be easier :)

    Here are Aurum's details anyway
    Aurum Finishing Limited
Unit 1, Parker Ind Centre, 275-289 Watling
    Street
    Dartford, Kent, DA2 6EP
    United Kingdom
    Telephone: 01322 311 222
    Email aurumltd@hotmail.com

  • Steve also picks up from Hackney Peddler (top of Kingsland Road) every Wednesday

Drop him a line before you put in there and heā€™ll collect. Donā€™t go elsewhere

  • Hackney Peddler (top of Kingsland Road)

In Stoke Newington Road, actually. Same old A10, but separated from Kingsland Road by Kingsland High Street. Just in case someone goes looking for them around Dalston Junction. :)

  • Does anyone have a reliable way to get in contact with Steve at Aurum? Got an email back from him just over a week ago, but haven't been able to get hold of him on email or phone to book a frame in since.

  • You could ask some of the shops that deal with him regularly? SBC and Clever mike spring to mind

  • Did you get hold? Hopefully picking up a bike at the weekend which is a restoration job

  • Ye, like @spotter said, much easier to deal through a shop. They even took the frame up there for me. Clever mike that was.

  • Any S London shops work with him?
