Have you seen a current Aqua Terra in the metal? They are really quite shiny. Not like they used to be. The hands and markers have that type of machined finish with very fine grooves that create rainbow reflections. They don’t glitter like a Rolex dial, they just shine.
The bracelet centre links are also polished (again, unlike the old ones).
I do like the black 38mm, but I prefer the O.G. 39mm AT design by some way.

I have and I really like the look of it, still yet to try. It's not so much the case or bracelet (would probably go with the black strap anyway) but that the dial on the green looks way too shiny. The last photo you added of the current black model does have a gloss dial but it's nowhere near as much as the green by the other image.
I think the old 38mm would fit perfectly but I'm not fully convinced by the rounded corners of the date window as I think it detracts from the overall sharpness of the markers etc. Then again, also never tried on.

Mmm, may just be the image but looks all a bit shiny, shiny. I love more shine and sunburst on something like a datejust but this looks close to the Alpinist green and glitz. The black just at the back does have a gloss look but is not so reflective...hmm.
