No with respect to the original commons you mean? Because as a principle / concept, the 'tragedy of the commons' definitely holds, even if something else was needed to make the situation arise in the first place.

The former. That isn't what happened to the commons. The essays that established it as a concept were flying in the face of the actual historical evidence of how humans behaved and trying to justify greed as the basis for economic systems because "people are naturally greedy". Basically an early version of Thatcher's "There is no such thing as society".

Fair enough, I never researched the situation of the actual commons enough to be able to comment on that specifically.

Times got hard for slash didn't they?

That guy was actually Slash's replacement, so kind of yeah. I liked Velvet Revolver though.

Spent the whole afternoon in a delirious state. Temperature now 39.1 but suspect it was higher earlier. Can’t eat. Forcing water down.
Not had flu for years. Not enjoying it. And not happy to know that I have Covid19 to come.
Went onto 111.com. This is just flu. In some ways it would be nice to get the big one out of the way.
One positive is that with all the hysteria, no one is demanding that I work.

They include three who contracted the disease without travelling abroad, confirming fears that community transmission is already occurring in the UK and that attempts to contain the virus have at least partly failed.

Just had a call from an old colleague who I worked with at a gold command during H1N1. Wanted to know if I'd be happy to come and help set up some incident rooms.
Not sure which region yet but I've said yes in principle.

How do you determine it's only flu from 111.com?
Hope you make a quick recovery.
-

That’s unlucky as we are at the very end of flu season based on hospital admissions where it has been tested, peak was week before Xmas and been dropping ever since.

Yes my immediate thought was flu, now?

Most of the questions relate to risk but others to symptoms. I have no breathing difficulty.
Mind you, it would be great to have got Covid out of the way. Sadly, I have that to come.

Sorry to hear you're unwell, Clive... I am also laid up today but with something that feels more like a common cold...
Get well soon!
I've always hated that phrase and the way it is used (mostly by right wing ideologues), because that's not what happened to the actual commons. The real tragedy of the commons was the Inclosure Acts.
So "no" to this:
