Anyone got a cheap front block. Now have ended up with two from bags and no block on the brommie.

What gearing do you guys generally use in town? I think I rarely ever go above 90gear inches on my road bike so tempted just to go for the reduced gearing 6 speed.

Buy with 50t, then go down to 44t if you need. Can’t go the other way without a new chain.

Does the kinetics kit take larger wheels..?
-
• #8287
100/135 QR .
In the current kinetics frame/fork you can squeeze an 18”.
New frame/forks will take 18” wide or 20” narrow wheel/tyre

Clearly I am too spoilt for choice!

Bargain indeed, would have made an offer too if only it had front dynamo hub, wrong stem too!
-
• #8290
Fork and triangle retail at £700.. just swap the stem and add a dyno?
-
• #8291
Is there something better/solution than the standard Brompton front mudguards? I’m asking before the front is completely useless, my feet at complete soaked every time it rains.

Photo of your front set up?

I have the same problem on my commuter, if you’re riding quickly your feet are gonna get wet whatever bike/mudguards set up you have .
-
• #8295
Even if the flap is longer?
-
• #8296
Longer flap might solve that, worth trying
-
• #8297
Get a floor scraper flap!
-
• #8298
Would a longer flap need longer guard to make the flap effective?
-
• #8299
Stop riding into puddles...
The stock flap is adequate enough if you don't go through puddles. I have no complain for mine and yeah it's been my winter commuter even through the storms in the past month or so.
If needs must, it's wider and not longer flaps if you insist on riding through puddles.

Nah, Fahrer flaps work fine
Well done in interpreting my typos
Yeah do appear to be associated with carradice, mine seems very tough and well made. Its kind of good how each bag is a little bit unique depending on which bit of a lorry you end up with.
