New car day! First ever new car and my first car in almost a decade. Yes yes yes I know a lease is poor value but I’ve only been in the US for a little while and hence couldn’t get finance on a new/used car. But I could get lease finance. I will likely finance the residual value once the lease is over in 36 months.
I’ve been lusting after a Crosstrek for a good while since seeing loads of them up in Vermont last winter and had rented one through Zipcar a few times. I’ve just moved to Los Angeles and wanted a car for exploring national forests and the Mojave. This ticked all of our boxes.
Not as good value as a Kia, for example, but I didn’t want to save cash and end up driving a car I didn’t love. I didn’t want anything other than this, and I’m glad I made the decision to spend a bit more to get what I wanted. I absolutely love it.
