Mine got bent in one of several crashes at Strathpuffer so I may take you up on this. Will PM tomorrow

ZTTO levers are decent and can be had for under 20 quid from ebay.

• #15454
PM if me if you need it and hope I put it somewhere sensible I can find it.

Do they mount to I spec B?
-
• #15456
Yes, a purple one!

Ta, I'll give the Bontrager one a try.

I got the Shimano dropper lever, mounts onto their brake levers so it's very neat.

• #15460
Doesn't look like it.

Hang on, so if I've got one of the BrandX droppers that clamps at the post end (worst design ever, the ultimate ballache), is there some way to use one of these aftermarket levers to get the clamp at the lever end? Do I need a widget for the post end that'll take a cable nipple bit or does it just cram in? Anyone tried it?
-
• #15462
Edit - never used one, but piqued my interest and is the right price for a dropper lever.
Edit X2 - Might also have the issue described above whereby it's designed to have the cable threaded the other way.

• #15463
Won't the cable end just keep it in place?
-
• #15464
Yeah looks the cable goes in from the lever end. Dropper post routing on this Cotic is 🤯.
-
• #15465
Yeah it'll definitely stay in place but it's a tight area (which is why it's such a pain in the arse clamping a cable in). Guess I can take the post out and try it but due to aforementioned arsepain I'll avoid that if possible.
^ see here, they've had to cut the cable basically flush to get it in

Fitted Cush Core, went better than expected.
Now for beer.

Next ride you'll lose traction, whack the rim into a rock and rip a nipple through the bed, because karma.

• #15468
Sounds like you're hoping for it! :-D

I haven't ridden my bikes enough this winter, so flights of fantasy are quite vivid right now.

Just FYI (hate that term), the design hasn't changed and it's the same on mine, just the cable end goes in that but that's holding the cable clamp, and the exact same cable clamp is held by the lever now.
The reason why I hate "FYI" is my bosses boss only ever used to communicate with me by sending me emails that were forwarded on to me with "FYI" on them from 5 meters away.

Spring equinox ride then?

Tempting, for £70 of diesel round trip. Would need somewhere safe to sleep in the van to drive home Sunday though...

Well, you're more than welcome to come along if you fancy it.
I'll be camping at the YHA on Holmbury. You can just park in the public car park next to the YHA overnight. Mates of mine have done it, it's safe. -

Rigid on-one whippet arrived today, broken!
Looks like either the mech hanger or rear mech are busted, it won't select the largest 3 cogs, or the smallest 2 cogs on the cassette, and the ones in the middle are rough af. When I adjust the mech to go into 3rd from largest, the mech is smashing the rear wheel spokes. I've gotten in touch with them using their awful chat because they apparently don't have phone lines anymore, and although the mech looks like a banana, they're adamant it's unlikely the mech will fail.
It's been a piss poor experience dealing with them to-date, so hopefully for them the hanger fixes it and I don't have to kick up a stink to get a new mech too.

This is bollocks! From that angle the mech looks all fucked up. You'd have thought they'd have checked it worked and packed it up properly.
I've got a whatever comes with a brand X acend I can send out for postage costs, looks fine but not as good as the bonti one.
