I’ll let mine go shortly.
Photos upthread. -

The ‘5s’ logos are really off putting though, even if the improved movement is attractive.
Currently a bit torn on whether to play safe for something I don’t mind breaking but has a bit of history like the SKX007 or saving up properly for something a little more obscure like an Oak and Oscar...

Any suggestions for something ~40mm, pretty slim, smart but not a dress watch, water resistant for swimming and sub £500 (preferably sub £200)? Kinetic/solar is OK. Quartz at a push.

Brand new?

How about those G shock 2100 £99 ?
Very popular on here .... -

Eterna kontiki or Seiko srpb43 ?
-

Have you seen an Eterna in real life? Quality wise they're the nuts. Definitely a bit ahead of Presage.
The only problem is the marmite looks of the Kontiki. I want to love them but I really can't.

Can you go swimming with the Seiko?

Has anyone got a Sea-Dweller 16600? I'm tempted on a NOS version for £7k but I've only ever seen one in the flesh for a few minutes.
This version from the early 00's

NOS for £7k? You sure it's not fugazi?

Nice without the cyclops , I knew someone that had one , but sold as he found it too chunky

Tried one on once they’re HUGE! Felt too thick. And I wear my Helson shark diver comfortably

Doesn't have to be new.
Kontiki looks a bit too dive watch and the Seiko a bit too dressy.
Slight issue that I don't really know what I want, just what I want to use it for.

Same as you, only seen one for a few minutes. Started chatting to the guy and turned out to be the watch buyer for Ernest Jones.
Same opinon as others, it's slabby like the standard black bay 41mm range. -

Sea Dweller... for 7?!?!
I'd take it...
But as pointed out, they are chunky.
I'd still take it as I like the chunky.
I'd love a Deep Sea-Dweller D-Blue

£7-£8k is what they go for pristine condition. The one that people want is the later Sea Dweller 4000 with the ceramic bezel that was produced in pretty small numbers before being discontinued for the 43mm version we have now.
I'm less and less into the shininess of modern Rollies.

The James Cameron Deep Sea in blue is literally the worst version EVER

Never been a fan of gloss on a watch. Why?
-
• #42123
Just a bit too shouty. For a diver.

• #42124
Almost as bad as the chocolate box text on the inner bezel.

Have a look at Tissot.
This may be a bit thick:
https://www.creationwatches.com/products/tissot-247/tissot-t-sport-prc-200-powermatic-80-t055-430-11-047-00-t0554301104700-mens-watch-11432.htmlHarder to find now but Seiko Sarb033 is a nice dressier option, which works on a bracelet, smart strap or a more casual strap to change the look:
The new Seiko 5 Sports in the same style as the SKX are the current equivalent. There are still some SKX floating around but they’re not made anymore.
The 5 Sports range aren’t “proper” divers watches but they are better finished and have a better movement than the SKXs.
