Anyone watch that Remy Metailler bike build vid I posted a few posts back? It's like the most calming zen thing I've seen in an age.
-
• #15304
yeah those ambient music bike build vids are usually a good watch.
But please wear gloves when tightening rotor bolts (@3:28). -
• #15305
Hah yeah that's pretty good.
-
• #15306
I could play that vid on a loop and bliss out into eternity.

Do you have links to similar ones?

Why wear gloves?
-
• #15309
Could just be clumsy me, but torx key slips and then it's your knuckles against extra sharp rotor arms. ouch
-

Torque on them is tiny so slipping shouldn’t really be a problem, but yeah could see it happening when removing them.
I use a calibrated torque bit in a drill to do em up.

^^This is why centre lock is better.

I happen to like centrelock too but let’s hope Tester doesn’t hear us

Ooh, get you.

Damn you, Corona Virus.

I just drill them to 1 then top them off with a torque wrench. 1 on the drill is about 5nm.
Anyone building a bike nicer than mine isn't relaxing, especially if they're fitting a dropper.

Yeah, they warp less too, but Hope don't do them in purple.
-
• #15319
Thanks for the links. Wasn't even aware of this genre of bike build video previously.
-
• #15320
Yeah, they warp less too
Please show your workings.
-
• #15321
Should have said "less than single piece rotors", I've never needed to true a centre lock, or a Hope rotor for that matter.

• #15323
I got about as far as him commenting on "puddles everywhere"

Speaking of which when are we riding in Thetford?
