Where are you based? I think I have a fairly sturdy one folded up in the shed you can have for free if you can pick up from SE19

Thanks a lot, missed this somehow. Not in London though.
Back on shed design: will a 2.5 degree pitch be alright for a felt lean-to roof? Design is very constrained by various factors and this is about the most I can get with a proper sized door. Not a great bother if I have to replace it every 5 years.

Has anyone insulated their asgard shed? In the winter my saddles get mouldy with the amount of condensation in there, which is a bit grim.
-
• #1305
Have found that anything that stops surface moisture sitting on the saddles - even a simple as a dish towel chucked on top helps tremendously.

Dredge but got some more pictures of the Caad? Looks mean 👍🏻

Even my garage (connected to the house but not heated independently) seems to get a bit damp in winter - has a cycling cap hanging that’s got mouldy and a Brooks that’s got mouldy - would be interested if there’s a solution but guessing not. Concerned about bikes/components stored in there getting rusty etc. Noticed some relatively new brifters has a rusty bit inside this week.

a dehumidifier?

There should really be no such problem in a brickbuilt garage. Condensation problem points towards bad air circulation, in layman terms you need an airing brick or other means of air exchange. Think of all those Victorian stock houses which had chimney breasts removed, floors covered in laminate and double glazing installed and are literally rotting away. Opening garage doors once a week for few minutes should also help.

anyone using those pedal hangers?
I want to hang a couple from plasterboard walls using these but I'm still worried about the whole weight of the bike effectively hanging off a lever.

The link is to plaster board fixing. If you want to hang bikes on hook fixed onto the wall you just need appropriate fixings for plaster boards and you’ll be fine as weight if bike is more or less leaning on the wall rather than off the wall.

I've used these before.

I also put a long piece of wood to hold the wheels in place. shares the weight a bit too. -
• #1313
Plus one on piece of wood. Also helps keeping wall clean if positioned for wheel to hit it rather than painted wall
-
• #1314
Could use a matching bit of wood fixed to studs as a batten to take the weight of the pedal hanger?
-
• #1315
Yeah, the plasterboard fixing is to attach the pedal hanger to the wall.
-
• #1316
Are you using those with a pedal hanger? I've used them for putting up shelves and that but I'm not sure they'll hold enough weight for a bike.
-
• #1317
Road bike? Carbon? Or full suss MTB

anyone using those pedal hangers?
Yes. 6 in one room.
I want to hang a couple from plasterboard walls using these but I'm still worried about the whole weight of the bike effectively hanging off a lever.
Those ^ are on a plasterboard stud wall, but the mounts are screwed into the studs behind the plasterboard. The wooden boards do take quite a bit of the load and can help spread the load over the rest of the wall.
-
• #1319
Oh nice, that's encouraging. I'm going to see if I can get them on a stud but I'm limited to where in the room they can go, hence the plasterboard fixings.
-
• #1320
Just road bikes, under 10kg each. It's more the lever effect I'm worried about, and the small room between each screw on the pedal hanger plate.
-
• #1321
Yep 4 fixings for each hanger. Was fine for my 8/9kg road bike.
I think most of the weight is spread on the wheels tbh. -
• #1322
Massive dredge but where did you source the hooks? They seem to be £20+ each everywhere online
-
• #1323
What's the best way to tidy up my bike shed (without selling bikes)?
There are 2 (maybe 3 bikes) that aren't being used regularly.
I don't want to spend ages drilling hooks and not allow enough space/hooks/fuck it up. Is there a way to plan it out better before bodging the fuck out of it? -
• #1324
- Make a scale diagram.
- Then think about access and "zoning".
- Measure up what you want in there and see if it fits.
- Plan
- Build / modify
- Make a scale diagram.

This sounds like work.
I need a bike cover until I can get my shed sorted, anyone got any recommendations?
