What are the possible causes the back end of a bike feeling a bit squirmy under cornering? Just the slight sensation that the back wheel is going more sideways than expected. I'm running a big (2.0") tyre, but it's up to pressures; no visible cracks in the frame, rim or hub; the spokes are all intact, although the NDS on the back wheel feel a little under-tensioned; back skewer and axle are both intact. A couple of days back I felt (through my feet) a clonk from my bike as if something broke, but I cannot find anything visibly amiss and have ridden it without incident since.
The wheel bearings feel sticky (like the grease is a bit old and gummy) but not notchy or rumbly. I've not checked that the tyre has deformed but I've not noticed anything suring my inspection of the rim nor have I noticed any weird sensations when riding straight on smooth roads.
