  • Running bar end shifter cables completely under the bar tape, any (good) reason why not to do it?

  • Depends on the bend I guess, but setting them up the trad way makes for a shorter, straighter run with likely better shifting.

    • Cables and housing need to be really long
    • you can feel the cable when you're in the drops
    • can be difficult to route past levers in a comfortable way
    • difficult to affix the end of the tape whilst trying run the cable underneath at the same time. You'll probably have to tape it depending on your shifter

    I wouldn't say they're good reasons though

  • You'll need tandem length inner for the rear, apart from that, fine.

  • No reason why not other than feeling the odd sensation of the housing on the drop.
