  • Yeah, I’ve lived in them before, but this time we are going for a new build, so space has been squeezed in true developer fashion.

Will do, thanks. Sounds suitably fashionable

  • I wonder if I would fit on that Rourke.

  • After the sales, comes a rebuild!

Thankfully not by me either. I dropped the TrainBiek of at Eastside in Edinburgh this morning to get it back into winter bike shape.

Going to keep it 1 x but with the OG 10speed Apex mech on an extender with 11-38 on the back and 36 on the front. Cadence-y, perhaps, but we'll see.

Dyno lights back on and a decent service should see it back into fine fettle.

I've been doing clubruns on the single speed up here and what hills i can manage down south on a Tuesday and it's been great, but I am looking forwards to gears again I must say.

I also love this bike, dogs are alright as well.

  • Looks great!

  • Had the TrainBiek out on the club run today and it was excellent to get back out on it and to remember what a great bike it is.

Three things need/I want tweaked though

    • The saddle needs replaced as the nose has split so badly I’m sitting on the rails, lol
    • 36t on the front probably needs to be 38 or 40 (need to find 94bcd chainring)
    • I want to get a switch wired in for the Dynamo

I suppose I could also get a more aesthetic stem, seatpost and also some matching SQR’s.

I stopped at Eastside on the way back as I was passing, to say thanks to the chap who re wired the bike (as he wasn’t there when I collected it). He informed me that he has added micro connectors at every junction so the wiring should never need stripped again, which is excellent and a really nice touch.

  • Train bike is 💪🏼

  • eBay gold for Trainbiek

  • Why the mtb crankset out of curiosity?

  • Can't get a small enough gear on a road one

  • It’s what was on it when it was the pub bike

I don’t have a spare road crankset to hand

I had the massive cassette and extension thing from the Cotic

What @colm89 said as well obvs

  • I also quite like the cranks and the clutch mech and 40t ring all came in cheap as, so I thought I’d bid and if I won, have a mess about.

If it’s shit, I’ll wait for a shitty GXP combo and put the front mech back on.

  • Really? You can go down as far as 34 on a 110bcd 5 bolt crank

  • But yeah fair enough

  • I'm just winding him up

  • That does look like a fairly hefty cassette now that you mention....

  • I'm not saying anything, i like my glass house the way it is!

  • Such engineer, many wow, much lol

    Also 104 bcd 4 bolt

  • I appreciate it, even if its lost on everyone else

  • Random question

I found this E3 rear light in my parts bin when the Trainbiek was away to be rewired.

I can’t find anything about an e3 rear light with clear lenses on the Internet, anyone know anything about it?

    Anyone want this beater c17

Some life left in it, but I would imagine that it will fail eventually

  • Just looks to be the original version to me. No visibility slots or sideways-biased outer LEDs

  • Ah, so it is red then?
