It is weird. I understand that Wurf often trains with Ineos, so they probably had a decent idea of him in terms of his performance metrics but still.

Let’s be honest, he’s going to do one race in Australia, maybe one or two of the desert races and then never be seen in an Ineos kit again. I’d be surprised if he’s on an orthodox contract.

I know Thomas has indicated he would like to transition to ironman after his pro career finishes, so perhaps INEOS are using this as a test case.

Maybe Ineos will be the anti-EF Education and branch out into tri.
