Get Swrve instead? Much more hard-wearing.

They don’t do them anymore. When they offered to trade in my old ones I asked. Can’t remember the reason.

I recently got some Spoke chinos to fill this hole. Lots of nice cycling specific things like a zippy pocket inside the right side pocket but they don't have a re-enforced gusset do not sure how long they'll last to saddle wear

I thought the original commuter jeans were pretty good. As you say: stretchy fabric and reinforced arse was worth the extra tenner to me (was the fabric sanforized too?).
The second gen dropped the good bits and only retained the d-lock loop (lol) and the commuter branding which was a lazy/cynical (money-saving) move from Levis.

Anyone got any idea what became of Levis Commuter cycling jeans? Best bike jeans I’ve ever owned and they’re finally becoming more ventilation than denim. I’d replace like for like at the drop of a hat but they’ve vanished by the looks of things.
