That’s really common
Essentially Americans shriek through their noses. Its not necessarily a bad thing, some are quite good at it.

I'm not particularly "sensitive" to accents. I usually barely notice them but this lady's voice really puts me on edge.

Given that she has a voiceover job, I think the problem probably sits with me rather than her.

Any episode of How It's Made that isn't presented by Hollyoaks' and Coronation Street's Tony Hirst just doesn't sound right to me
