Hmm the OP was asking about a SON hub initially though and SJS cycles specifically suggest on there website that the halo 15-12mm adapter sleeve for example won’t work with SON?

Well they said SP and SON but it seems SON have their pressure breather thingie in the axle space so perhaps that's the issue:

This is saying you can't take 12mm to 15mm with end caps, which makes sense. But I'm suggesting taking SP 15mm to 12mm with a sleeve inside the hub body. This should make no difference to the fork interface.

I thought that bikes from the Surly / All City stable were average frames with low end components.

That one has mid range sram stuff with hydros and WTB wheels and tyres, the other is basic shimano, cables and no name wheels, I'm just looking at the pictures.

Frame price seemed to be expected tho, yeah it's expensive, but we're currently fucking up our own country as we speak.

it is, full bike is 1700 and you can get a brixton for 500. I know obviously the all city has higher spec but it's nothing you'd ever notice tbh (on your trendy hybrid).

WTB's OEM wheels are normally absolute dog shite, what ever those cranks are (FSA?) look pretty gash and i'm pretty sure it just has Tektro brakes not Sram?

Chuck a set of MT500 brakes on the genesis and it will be ever bit as good.
