Cheers for all the suggestions. It's not for a UK passport (I thought it was an appropriate time to embrace my Irish heritage and become an Irish citizen) so need actual pictures.
I found a photo booth in Sainsbury's in Camden. After buying something in there so I had the correct change I went through the rigmarole of taking the photos (it was one of those nicely dated systems where button presses take a few seconds to register so getting the correct option is a gamble) and attempted to pay. At that point I discovered it refused to take a new £5 note (obviously nothing on there to tell you this) and the people at the tills at Sainsbury's couldn't change it for coins so I got pissed off and left.
