You’d probably be doing lowers, damper and air spring, and by the time you’ve done that you’ve spent more than a new fork.

Looking for all season tyre recommendations for a 29er. They're to fit a hardtail XC bike but I guess maybe I'd like to try to squeeze something bigger in there for a bit more fun. Currently running 2.1s I think, with over 10mm clearance. Can I size up with no problems?
I've always got on well with schwalbe but I've been reading up that maxxis are pretty good.
Magic Mary I think have good reviews as do Minions and Ardents.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Is there any good riding north or east of Plymouth (Kingsbridge and surrounds) that would warrant bringing a proper mtb on a long weekend away, rather than my Vaya?

What are you currently using, what's your terrain like, what kind of riding are you doing, etc etc?

I'm currently using Racing Ralph on the front and Rocket Ron on the rear. Never had any problems with them really. I'm not racing though so wondered if I could squeeze something more fun in there.
Riding on all kinds of terrain really, from mud through to dusty singletrack with some flinty rooty sections.
Basically I think I just want @Howard to give me a definitive answer and i'll just buy them.

Advice needed! I’m looking for a hardtail that’s both suitable for shredding the gnar on singletrack/trails in The Netherlands, an ocasional outing to the Ardennes/Eifel, and bikepacking the Tuscany Trail in June. I would prefer a steel frame because I love the look of slim steel tubes. Budget is around €2000.
Ritchey Ultra and Stanton Sherpa are on my list, what else should I consider? Fully and building my gravel bike are the obvious answer but budget won’t stretch to that for the next year...Well, that escelated quickly... I went mountainbiking at the Utrechtse Heuvelrug with my my girlfriend last weekend. She took her Trek something fully and I rented a Cube Stereo at the Cube store in Leersum. Had a blast riding the Amerongen trail on Friday and joined a ride out with them on Saterday morning on the Leersum and Amerongen trails. Bested my time set last August (same bike) on the “Harry Slinger” downhill section by 34 seconds (1:15 vs 1:49) even though I didn’t feel much faster while riding. Really nice crew, beautiful trails, freezing cold, nice cake when we got back. I’m totally set on a shortish travel fully now 😅. Cube Stereo 120 is the rational choice on the short list, Trek Fuel EX the slighly more rowdy one, but the (looks of the) Santa Cruz Tallboy tugs on my heartstrings.
Just got confirmation that I can use all the extra time I put in at work to buy gift vouchers wich means I don’t have to pay taxes on my overtime and get to spend a lot more on a new bike and would be able to build the EeSU frame for the Tuscany Trail.
Can’t wait to go back in a few weeks for a Saturday of riding at Amerongen again, test the Cube again. Have to find a shop to test both the Trek and Tallboy in the next month.
*Picture taken at the Friday pre-ride coffee (cake) stop.Tl;dr Had a lovely ride, need a fully now...

Tom Walker, the guy who nearly took himself out permanently on the railway gap in Pemberton rode Revolution Bike Park on the weekend. Amazing that he can even ride, great to see.

I stopped watching before he hit the ground. His fall was enough.
But he's back on the bike now, riding Revs. Awesome resilience.

These are £12 (+ postage) inc. a pair of "carbon valves" so I've taken a punt:

How do I test them - huck to flat at 10psi?

I'm considering entering this later in the year. Has anyone here ridden it before?

Hmm
If I want a 140mm 29 fork, but I've got a 150mm 27.5 fork, can I just change the lower leg assembly?
