Maybe moving the fender behind the fork crown gives you enough room for the tire? because not only the bracket, but also the rivets would then not be in the way anymore. But with the brake you've got you would need a different recessed nut, such as the problem solvers brake nut (still cheaper than new guards though?)

Its the bracket that is causing the problem now. I´ve tried to cut it down beacuse it was hitting the headset. Now the slit is too shallow. What is a good fender for this?
