  • Noooo! D'oh! Looked like a very good run from you in the last Surrey League, shame you're missing out on some big races. Will you be along for presentation night so we can see you off properly?

    I'm in a sort of injury limbo, in that I'm pretty sure my left foot (PF? or similar but I've not been arsed to pay a physio to give it a name) is a lot better than it was immediately after my last XC race three weeks ago, but I've not tried it out on a run. I'm not in a hurry to race again so just want it to heal properly.

    In the mean time, I've transferred my mojo to the gym and just did my first proper interval session on the Concept 2 rower in five years. Also did a 10k time-trial on it last week, 37:19, a bit off my 36:27 pb from five years ago when I was training for the British indoor champs. I think even when I'm back running I'll keep this up with a view to having a go at the champs again at the end of the year. I've been injury-proof on the rower so far in my life, touch wood...

  • You row almost as fast as I have ever run a 10k. Keep up the good work.
