• No faff. Plug the thing into the thing, leave those connected then just plug the lightning plug into the phone. No lossy Bluetooth. This is a home setup, nobody with any decency would use open-backs on the go.

  • I've had the same exact same setup - I personally think it was a faff versus the lovely little ES100. It's great having nothing plugged into a phone but still be able to use a pair of wired headphones/earphones. There's a reason the ES100 has actual rave reviews. It's ridiculous value for money. My favourite audio purchase ever - genuinely. I can leave my phone sitting anywhere in my apartment and just walk around. Not tethered to the device and it's really nice.

That's partly what I meant earlier about Darko.audio needing a pinch of salt. He's very quick to support brands like Audioquest or Chord - who do sell snake oil products to an extent, but ignores smaller brands pushing more interesting innovative products.

He made a video saying 'I no longer use a dedicated DAP on the go 'cause I can use a dongle with another USB dongle attached to it.' Just seems kind of archaic to me. Bluetooth isn't what it used to be. It's really very good.

I'd also be genuinely interested to know whether your ears can tell the difference between your setup and an aptX/LDAC bluetooth connection. I very much doubt it. Especially with a pair of SR125s.

BUT with all that said - just my opinion and each to their own :-)
