I assume this is not a CX friendly ride?

Plans to build a MTB failed recently

A MTB would be better. Many trails could be done on a CX bike but some trails with more pronounced ruts, roots and holes could be hard work.

I rode most of the stuff over there on my CX bike - it was actually more fun than my 29’er
