'Donald Trump has revisited his vendetta against energy-saving lightbulbs, ascribing them the blame for his orange hue while extending the focus of his ire to include showers, dishwashers and toilets in a wide-ranging rally speech in Milwaukee.

Despite claiming an aide had warned against mentioning lightbulbs ahead of his address, Mr Trump complained “the new lightbulb costs you five times as much and it makes you look orange”.'

^^^^ This is not dumb. It is very clever pandering to his crowd who love it. He makes self-deprecating jokes about his hair and orange look. At the same time it enrages his enemies in the environmental movement - his crowd love that. He produces a few sound/video bites that get shared far wider than his usual audience, even here.

I'm sure the crowd loves it and it's equally designed to galvanise his base, enrage the "libtards" and environmentalists and as self-deprecating. I actually think that Trump has some clever advisors and strategies in the context of the divide and rule politics game.

But in the true wider, global context raging against energy saving lightbulbs (and by extension, real environmental concerns, as you say) is pretty crazy and dumb.

I think that this Republican presidency (and it's important to remember just how highly he's regarded by the Republican establishment & voters) is a serious threat to any efforts to avert the environmental threat to human life.

It's more like a fairly dull stand up routine.

I think it's too late, we're fucked, the only choice to make is if you ultimately want to starve, burn or desiccate.
