Thanks. There's some decent moments in there and I am slowly dialing in my framebuilding setup.
I need some better arbors for my holesaws which I'll order next time I order materials and I need to save up for a foot pedal. Pulse is great but I need a bit more control and flexibility moving around joints.

The clamping mechanism for the steerer is a really nice touch

Thanks but I can't take credit for that. It is common on early 90s stems. This one is infact a GT 130mm 1 1/8" stem for 25.4 handlebars. But I needed 31.8 bars and a shorter stem for this:

Just Googled a bit. It is called a GT Flip Flop stem apparently.

There is another GT stem design which caught my eye.
Stupid clamp system but there is potential in stealing the tube mitrering concept and redesigning it for current needs.

Got a new saddle. Fizik Kurve Bull soft with Möbius rails. Will it snap?

I had a Kurve a while back and although it was very comfortable I did crack the carbon shell after a while. I am around 72/3kg.

So I've heard this a couple of time now. Probably not a wide choice for my size then

Have seen many cracked ones cheap on eBay but have been wanting to try one myself still.

I had a test go on this last night. It wasn't any better than my flites. So I'll probably pass it on. Two friends have expressed interest in it, but if they don't want it you can have it for peanuts.

Very kind of you sir

Speaking of things I need to shift.
I am having to sell this frameset. I am not going to find time to race cross this year and I need cash for more framebuilding equipment. Let me know if you are interested.

What are you asking for it?
-
• #3265
Mmm I am not sure what to charge. Forks were redic price back in the days but hard to sell now I guess. Maybe 200gbp for forks, frame, seat clamp + shipping.
Edit: I could sell it complete or most parts together. But I need purple headset and spacers for my road bike and Thomson seat post for my ssmtb and flite for my cargo bike. Was going to use the wheels on my road bike as well maybe.
But Salsa Cowchippers, 3T stem and all other bit could be sold I guess. If you want it complete or as parts or whatever just get in touch. I just need to shift it as I can't see myself finding time to ride it.

Do you have the geometry to hand?
-
• #3267
It is a Vision Crosstrail frame. I cant find any geo charts online.
I think seattube is 73 degrees and headtube is 72. Top tube is 580mm ctc I believe.
I can do a measure up tonight if I am lucky or on Monday.
I'll do a proper sales thread as well and confirm geometry. -

Interested in the cowchippers if split.

Anyone know what sort frames commonly used 29.8mm seat posts? What sort of steel tubes? High end or low end mtbs?

I've got quite a lot of projects going on at the same time, but I have been lusting a drop bar rigid mtb for a while and I have quite a lot of random tubes around the workshop which could make a free bike as I have all the components already.
I'd this to be hella speedy and warm up for two nicer ones I need to do.

I'll reuse forks from the other mtb which are now surplus as I have the bounce ones.
Inspired by the Mikkelsen mtb I'll aim for something with a chunky capped tube aesthetic that goes with Paul klampers and weird bars.
