  • I've got some Pearl Izumi non bibs that I bought because I thought they were running tights.

I'm a medium - would they fit you? You can have them for £15 inc postage. Worn once or twice

  • I'm a medium - would they fit you?

    haha

  • Is there any feature you're after that would mean that have to be cycling specific? If not any running/ training tights from any sporty brand should do the job.

  • Double hahahaha

I don't even look at something unless the size has an X in front of it.

  • I've never used running tights so have no idea if/how they differ. Typically with cycling specific clothing you will find seams in better places for cycling in. Or more durable panels used in saddle content areas, etc. Maybe reflectivity is higher on cycling tights too? (my current ones don't have any though so that's also possibly bullshit)

  • hmm... They sell them in size increments. I chose a bracket that meant I erred on the side of slightly larger which I think was the right move. The material is kind of stiff so there is little chance of it bunching up.
I use them for fixed gear riding with trainers on flat pedals with toe straps. No way I could comfortably fit them into my road shoes though.

  • Today I was at a bike shop in Vienna here, and rode home then with PEdAL ED Reflective Gloves – let's see how they do in the next weeks. Feeling comfy, Made in Romania, and the wrist fits under the jacket.

  • Good point, hadn't thought about the seams, crotch durability etc.

  • crotch durability

    I think of little else.

  • I just accept that I'm going to annihilate the crotch on any jeans/ shorts / tights / whatever sooner rather than later anyway and try to enjoy our brief time together.

  • +1 for Lusso. 15% off everything at the moment too.

They also do bespoke sizes for the abnormal. I'm 6'6" with the physique of a wizened pencil and they knocked me up some extra long tights with only a couple of weeks turnaround.

  • @hippy Just found some good prices on Lusso stuff that might work here too: https://www.spacycles.co.uk/m2b0s57p0/Parts-and-Accessories/Clothing-Legwear

  • There is a pair of xl lusso tights on eBay for a tenner. Factory seconds with a bit of stitching that has come loose

  • Just got some of the Lusso Nitelife Repel Thermal Bibtights without pad

  • I'm not just here for my looks.

  • Nice, I'll have a look. I reckon I could stretch my current DHB ones through another winter but it'd be nice to have a pair without holes for when it gets properly cold.

  • Not any more there isn't. That was easy. Good spot!

  • Has anyone tried this Endura Pro SL Waterproof Softshell? Looks nice but can't find a review anywhere. No details on the material either ..

  • I think @skinny was out in the rain yesterday in Endura kit, not sure if it was that exact jacket though.

  • Cheers @andyp

I have one of these but not tried it yet, so cant vouch for it. The material is likely their own, so it's as figures stated for breathability and wp 15m for both. It will not be the most breathable, but it does have pit zips and big front zip so lots to vent.

What do you want a jacket for?

  • Cheers looking for a Gabba type alternative, usual story - general winter protection with more breathability than a hard shell. I do run hot though so from what you say it might be too insulated. Currently have a Lusso Repel and don't find it breathes all that well.

  • I have a Parentini Mossa which I found to be decent.

Horrible orange colour with an Italian target on the arm though.

Luckily I look ropey at the best of times so this doesn't really enhance / detract from my style

  • I have a Lusso windtex jacket with long sleeves which is good when it is super cold, bit always wet on the inside
