It's the greyhound that currently takes up space
-
• #52278
Have you driven one?
Nice space wise and spec wise but...I could never get the driver seat comfortable. Never figured out why.

Passenger seat? Old ex racing greyhounds are like cats..

Shit colour, old, diesel, but cheap low miles. Hmmm.

I'd feel safer with her in the boot with a dog guard, in the event of a crash. Though i hope it never comes to that.

Or keep it Astra for cheap

Or a reasonable Avensis

No.
A friend had the saloon version - he raved about it, but I never drove it myself.

These are good estates and often overlooked - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201911284835283?minimum-badge-engine-size=2.4&advertising-location=at_cars&postcode=me46ju&body-type=Estate&model=MAZDA6&page=1&radius=1500&make=MAZDA&fuel-type=Petrol&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=Used
Based on the Mondeo platform, so nice to drive. Not ugly either and has a chain rather than a belt to boot.

I’d avoid 2.0 non turbo Legacy, they’re really under powered for a larger AWD wagon.
GT or H6 would’ve awesome though

Hope it never happens.
Do those dog seat belt converters work.

• #52287
They are great estate, lots of room in the back, lots of toys. Can be found cheap, tolerant to abuse and missing servicing.
To drive they are a bit disconnected from the road. Used one to drive to southern Paris on non toll roads. Mondeo MK3 was more fun with even with cheap tyres.

And here's the equivalent for @jonny spotted in Waterloo. Kids go in the trailer :)
Just stumbled across this, wow this DB4 is amazing.

Ha. Love the long vehicle sign on the back of the trailer. Am more of a 126 fan than the old 500 but am sure the same thing could be done.

• #52292
Had a veicolo lungo sticker on the back of one my 126s for a few days before I noticed. Quite a few people noted and made comments and I was oblivious.

@Dammit this has just arrived in stock at a local dealer in Dublin. Not even on their website yet. Deane Motors

My mum’s fella had one of those bitd, he let me drive it when I was 19, I took it to the car park where my boy racer mates hung out to show off. I remember crunching the gears, and that it was cool as fuck and unimaginably fast compared to my 1.1 Renault 5. It was definitely not revered the way it is now though, just seemed too anachronistic in its day. /csb

@Colm89 Depends if you wanted an s50 (e36 m3) or s54 (e46 m3) engined car. The latter would be quite a bit more expensive. Munich legends had a few when I was there, I think in the region of £60k. That's not far off M3 CSL money, If you are buying a car to drive, and don't want to worry about putting miles up on an appreciating classic, I'd look at the z4 3.0si coupe. Or z4m coupe. z3m's and CSL's are probably overpriced these days.<
@Danstuff Semi-trailing arm rear suspension from the old widow-maker E30?<
@Dammit As Danstuff says rear axle beam same as the E30, some early ones didn't even have DSC for proper sideways fun

• #52296
Do they have roof rack mounting points?
-
• #52297
Seasucker?
-
• #52298
Always a little worried about what they do might do to the paintwork.
-
• #52299
Ask this dude if the racks are standard

My once perfect 306 is now being typically french. In the middle of 40°c+ days the A/C has given up. An electrical fault somewhere. Keep blowing fuses. So frustrating. My dash is now in bits trying to trace the short. Have tested the usual causes to no avail. Now well out of my depth... Electrickery.
