Faded (aka ghost) bezels cost more, because collectors.
-

If you are compromising on the bezel you really want , then wait I think my black bezel one will be markedly cheaper for a forum member such as yourself. Providing it comes off.

£16k for an as new recent one.

But... That's not a GMT master ii though... (lies) Solid link bracelet? And how much flex in that bracelet?
Do you want to pay £10k for something oringally only £2k new.... Compared to a new NEW only being £8

There’s an unworn, current GMT in a different shop just round the corner from the other two for £14,995.
-
• #40532
Even if they cost the same I’d have an ‘old’ II over the current model.
-
• #40533
I'd have that coke... For £2k less...
LOL

Agree, the older watch has a much less flashy vibe.

Excuse the date... I got the change over wrong

That’s actually not a terrible price, compared to others I’ve seen anyway.
Terrible compared to REP!
-
• #40537
You got it fixed?

• #40538
Turns out there's a date BUTTON... Doesn't change using the crown.

RTFM motherfucker
Ha! It wasn't in the manual... They are posting me the right manual AND a pusher... When they sent it back, they sent it with an omega pusher.
The fucker looks like an escapement valve... I did wonder how a non diver had an escapement valve though.

Why not get the one I linked? Save yourself £1.4k

I’m committing to nothing at the moment, just looking at the ones nearby. The place with the coke bezel also has a Pepsi in a different store that they’re sending over.
I actually like the coke in the flesh, thought I’d hate it but it is quite good looking.
I think the bezel is fubar though so would need fixing on the coke - unless on certain years it only rotates one way, but I don’t think that to be the case.

From a bit of reading that bezel should definitely be going in either direction.

Awesome collection @Soul
@inchpincher I’m spending quite a bit of time at Redbar these days so I haven’t been to time 4 a pint for a while. So I’m overdue going to one. Yes I’ll be there in Jan, see you there! -
• #40545
I booked last night so I’ll see you there too. 👍🏻

• #40546
big fan of the faded one.. personally...
-
• #40547
Why? For some reason a less than perfect watch commands more money.
-
• #40548
41mm though - for me, this deletes everything a datejust is.
-
• #40549
Think it depends on the collector. I think people pay more if fading is more equal through out. This one has a whole lot of contrast and that would put a lot of people off.

Isn't the answer obvious? Buy perfect condition Rolex GMT, wear it a lot, let it fade over time and then sell for profit?
£10,950 for the dented, faded one. £10,750 for the second one.
