I've had no takers on the Peroni if you're looking to swap any of these...

For those who have an Antic pub to hand, their Volden Winter porter is now back on cask for three months. Probably the best standard draught London porter out there, better even than Five Points Railway and By The Horns’ Lambeth Walk. Stopped off on the way home tonight at the Shelverdine Goathouse in South Norwood for a quick one.

They had the 4 of these in Clapton Craft in Stroud Green. Tempting but I decided to go for these two instead.

Local bottle shop has these in at the moment.
The Guinness could be interesting.

That Guinness does look intriguing; not sure it's 30-odd quid's worth of intriguing, mind.

Weird Beard's two Licorice stouts went down nicely the other day. I prefered the non-salty, missus like the sharper salty one.
I gave away a bottle of AB:21 I think yesterday which was a licorice stout. Been a while since I tried one though so can't remember if I liked it or not.
Looking forward to ripping through this boxset

Where from? Is that cheaper than Special Brew? :)

I got mine from Mother Kelly's in Stoke Newington, not sure who else stocks Pohjala in London. They also do a 17.5% BA Imperial Stout they have made in collbaroration with De Struise: https://pohjalabeer.com/cellar-series

Has that little bar changed hands recently? Walked past a couple of months ago and there were people spilling onto the street and a pretty loud DJ playing inside. Can't imagine the local residents would put up with that for long.

Interesting. Guess it won't be too common around town though.

It's only ten quid on Beerhawk. I'll see what my place charges.
I won't be paying £30 though.

Had the Alechemy Bring out the imp - Imperial stout (not barrel aged version)
Was quite tasty.
Seemed fizzy on the tongue (like sherbet)
You could tell it was a strong beer, but not too alcohol-y.
Would drink again. -

Ah, ok - a quick Google was bringing up prices around the £30 mark. For a tenner I'd give it a shot - will see whether my local beer place has it in.

Yeah, reopened under new ownership on Wednesday. Has had a refurb and is no longer a party bar. 6 taps, natural wines and loads of cans/bottles of interesting stuff available

That Heaven Hill Sadako is excellent.

I had a 4.5yo Jack Daniels version last night. Lovely.
I bought a bunch of their earliest bottlings the other night including an Ole Smokey version which I'd never seen before - aged in bourbon and moonshine barrels.

Were you there yesterday too?
We drove and stocked up for Christmas, was torture seeing the tap list but all were available in bottles which was great.
Did you see the £10 for 12 cans of Mariana Trench? Best value (good) beer I've ever seen since forever.

Tap list for anyone who is interested:
May have just raided the QC shelf at Weird Beard for all their old Sadakos...
