Anyone wanna swap an Abstrakt AB:20 for something?
"Time flies as they say, and we have reached the twentieth edition of our boundary pushing Abstrakt series of beers. It is going to be one for the ages too, as we are going to the metaphorical town on AB20. We have brewed a coffee milk English barley wine, and have blended this with an equally stunning barrel-aged imperial stout. So think liquid tiramisu, backed by a rich and decadent layer of warming alcohol. And much more besides."

I got one in the EFP calendar but already have some.

2014 bottling. Bretted Impy stout. Very dry. Not my preference for big stouts but it's 10% so I'll have eight thanks.

Out of date Peroni, 1 bottle?
-
• #7783
How on earth could anyone let a Peroni pass its BBE date?!

It's hard to resist opening it, but this is a real cellar highlight now. Worth more than my Olympic Cycling 50 pence coin.

I know what you mean. I couldn't possibly take it off your hands, it just wouldn't be a fair swap.
It does raise the question - is there a bottle swapping group in London? Bottle share nights seem popular in the US but not so much here.

I'll swap you my empty ones for full ones?

Good weight savings, right there.

Used to be a regular bottle share over in East somewhere. I'll do some digging see if I can find the info. I've been to a few at Hop Burns and Black in Peckham but they aren't regular.

Do I look like a Tory voter?

East and South. They'd be a bit shaken not stirred by the time I got there :)

I have nothing stored, I am jelly of all the old cellared impy stouts.

Got rid of the last of my 2014-15 bottles. It wasn't great.

I've tried that fresh, I wasn't overly impressed.
I spent longer than I'm prepared to admit to trying to get a bottle of Brooklyn Black Ops last year, no dice: https://brooklynbrewery.com/brooklyn-beers/big-bottles/black-ops

I loved it. I like it so much I thought I'd hold onto it and try it over time. It was good for a couple of years but the last bottle was ok but not great. Maybe my tastes have changed, it's hard to tell with this stuff and I'd also had a bretted Impy stout before it so perhaps that had an effect. I've got an AB:24 on my desk now and the missus is out tonight so I wonder what I'll crack open this evening. Oh, I found the Westvletern are newer than I thought, like 2016/17 or 17/18 are on the bottles so I reckon they could be schweet...
-
• #7795
Did you contact Brooklyn UK? They don't get everything over here but would know if it was over here or not and who had it.
-
• #7796
Sounds like the Westvletern should be good and yes today is a day for all the strong beers I reckon.

Like yesterday... and the day before... and...

Does anyone know if Brooklyn is no longer doing the American Ale? It was one of the few novelties at my local off license.
It's not on the Brooklyn site, but is on Carlsberg, so is presumably still in production: https://www.carlsberggroup.com/products/brooklyn/brooklyn-american-ale/

It used to be at Noble Green but isn't any more. So maybe it's now not a UK offering.

Found some West ones, copied you in on twitter
Wild Beer Co did/ do a decent beer called Sleeping Lemons (I think...)
That was pretty sour and mildly salted.
