Button snappers on the canopy roof and velcro loop strips at the bottom, holds ok until the passenger works out how to pull hard enough.

I often ride a bullitt that weighs significantly more than I do around (relatively) hilly Leeds very hungover. You'll be fine I reckon. Just spin away and make sure your gears are properly indexed so that if you end up out of the saddle with all your weight on the pedals they don't skip. That's a really a good way to mangle your knees.

Why don’t you have every other bike facing the opposite way so you don’t have to have some bikes sticking out...

yeah .. could work but thats just how I mount them, this I am doing as a mockup to identify exactly where to install the brackets .. might rotate bars of more bikes, takes literally 20 seconds with a ratchet.

The shed is 3.9x2.7m.

Consider which bikes you want quick access to, and which ones might be left to gather dust ( eg - summer road bike )

I've tried the alternate front wheel/rear wheel hanging, and found it a ballache to get the rear wheel hanging ones out. The varying height hooks seem the easiest way to accommodate the handlebars taking up space, while also giving easier access

I'd drill and attach one hook at a time. Hang the first bike, then hold the second one up to get an idea. And so on...

Then gradually replace all the bikes and realise nothing fits anymore

It's why I made mine adjustable. Only trouble is I've simply run out of room in the shed for any more bikes now :'(

good approach, I will go in with 3 bikes with rotated bars at the back then the rest, I need to consolidate one bike, MTB stays obvs :)

Mine only really works by having the rear wheels on the ground. It means the hooks don't reed to bear much weight, and also stabilises them, or they'd be swinging about whenever I moved one

One hand on a seatstay, the other on the stem. If you have limited space by alternating F wheels and R wheels you can store more things under the bikes.
