You did just use the “I don’t see a lot of white kids stabbing each other” argument.
Skin colour isn’t a cause of beliefs, even if it correlates with some.

I’ve never seen that graph before. I does show a load of leave support before the ref came relatively late and quickly. Huge if true, Dunning Kruger effect confirmed :)

Of course it's not a primary cause, but it is related to experience, and experience shapes behaviour. It's much less likely that a black woman will be promoted beyond their skill or ability, which is why that kind of chauvinist blase over-confidence tends to be limited to white dudes. I say that as a white dude! It's not causation, but it is strong correlation.

Ok, Who's dropped an alt?

^ This. Not sure why the initial comment sparked questions in that regard.

I am having a go at white entitled politicians, not people from deprived areas that are kept in deprivation and happen to be non-whites with a society that tries to be pretend skin colour does not matter, but it still unfortunately does.
Which to me is what the "I don't see white kids stabbing each other" is about. Rarely made by people who vote left-wing anti racist parties I'd say?
But yes I have to agree it is not a -cause- of beliefs.
(In Belfast white kids stab each other too, the link there is deprivation, it barely happens in affluent areas and happens in areas with drug problems/sectarianism/poverty...)

Identity politics as a label is often used in such a general way that even when people call out that disability/sexual orientation/ethnic group interface with existing inequalities in a constructive way people still jump on it.
So anything from cancelling a debate to whatever is used... I don't think we are at the stage in society where people have stopped seeing other peoples identities and treat them 100% fair. Would be nice if we'd all be blind to it, but data shows that no, atm we are not and structural racism/ableism/transphobia etc. still exists.

Calling out "identity politics" is a basic bitch right wing tactic to shut down debate / divert criticism.
Inb4: cuck, soyboy, sjw, libtard etc

There is no 'reverse' racism. There is no systemic oppression of white people, even more so white males.
So we're clear:

I’m not sure it does though. Lack of representation is a thing. Sentencing stats are a thing. And racism obviously exists. The conclusion that contemporary racism (prejudice based on race) is the cause is sketchy af. Which is why publishers of these studies tend to let the media and pressure groups take that leap.

Do you ever get bored of the alt-woke routine?
-
• #25694
Sometimes its hard to stay on it and stay vigilant, I try and remind myself the worst form of prejudice I've faced is a Swiss train guard thinking I was smoking in the loo while I was doing a toxic shit. People are fighting this for a reason and I'm not best placed to empathise. So, no.
-
• #25695
^^the fuck does that even mean?
-
• #25696
I'm guessing the "alt" bit refers to the post-woke / cleverer-than-you peeps...
-
• #25697
Now I'm unsure on alt-woke and post-woke. I was feeling all righteous too.
