  • Funded? They just pay more, I don't think it's going to eat into much other than a slight amount of savings or a few less drinks on holiday.

  • Yeah, because the rich have a solid recent history of just ponying up for the poor.

  • Instant polling should always be treated with caution but after tonight's debate the picture does seem to be getting clearer as some views solidify and others start to soften.

  • And nepotism and privilege.

    true dat

  • Bye bye Swinson.

  • I don't think one of us understands something. Are you asking where the slight rise in the tax band for people earning over £80k would be funded? If so it doesn't need funding people that have money pay more and raise funds. I think I've missed something.

  • 80k upwards is not the province of those who can ask to be payed in shares/diamonds/dividends - not until you hit a much larger figure, and they'll be optimising their tax already.

No one earning 85k is going to leave the UK to escape paying £45 a month more than they do today.

Therefore I think it would (if Corbyn had a hope of winning, which I don't think he does) raise more money - and IIRC they're proposing bringing Capital Gains inline with income tax from a % perspective also.

  • FWIW if Corbyn did win a majority my annual tax bill would increase by an amount identical to my first London salary.

  • Not sure I understand your point. Is there a particular consequence of tax increases you’re worried about or are you alluding to diminishing revenue returns generally (and all that ‘Laffer curve’ stuff)?

  • Wait... Is Corbyn gonna take away my marriage allowance tax free offset? Mother fucker, Johnson is such a lad.

  • I'll lose more there than bloody £80k cunto.

  • my annual tax bill would increase by an amount identical to my first London salary.

    1. Dear lord you're old
    2. Are you in the 8xth or 9xth percentile??
    3. Thank you for your future contribution.
  • Just catching up on the debate, seen Corbz and Sturgeon so far, both seemed decent, should I just go to sleep now?

  • Crisps and brandy has not made Swinson any less of a shitshow.

  • I think Sturgeon was top actually, I'd vote for moving the border south if that was a thing.

  • Are crisps and brandy a Lib Dem pledge? If so I’m there.

  • Nah, people's crisps and free brandy from clearing out my granddad's gaff, although he lives in Henly so probably a tory freebee. Seemed good when I got it but the cork fell apart into the bottle and ruined it so there's likely a meaning in that somewhere. About to go to bed angry after seeing bozo, which I will be far from the first person feel like.

  • I hate him deeply already.

  • Looks like he's stretched an uncooked pizza base over a massive fucking cunt.

  • Don’t go to bed hating.

  • He looks more like a current day sickboy than actual trainspotting 2 sickboy.

  • Dat brandy doh...

  • It just ran out.

  • Much like the lives of many austerity victims.

  • I'd say like any credibility bozo had, but that's an empty bottle to start with.
