Libtard opinion alert!
If (as seems likely) we go back to pre 2016 voter turnout levels –
On the minus:
fewer people feeling represented, less democratic, politicians have less credibility and authority. On the plus:
those voting are those more politically engaged, less subject to surface-level political campaigning, less diverse, more likely to agree/compromise. -

Settled Status backlog is building up nicely. Get your application in people and tell everyone that hasn't to do it ASAP...and ensure they refuse pre-settled if they've been here 5 years or more.

I think long term settled status will be worthless, only safe way is citizenship.

It's a form of ILR which was never changed, even by May.
But with Patel I don't feel too safe...
Citizenship is a hassle for me as I'm Dutch and have to marry my also British partner or lose my Dutch one but it's an option.
Some people really are stuck with SS for many reasons so I hope the UK gov behaves.

I have spent about £15k in last 11 years, still no ILR

Wow, WTF. I thought you could get it after 5 years here? [clearly I am wrong and I am trying to follow immigrant rules a little bit]
(which is expensive for you as you pay every year and now there is this NHS surcharge too...)
So, you have to keep paying every year for a visa renewal and hope for the best, how do you get it?

"Countries including Australia have asked for trade compensation from the UK and the EU over Brexit disruption.
Fifteen countries, including the US, India and New Zealand, have been setting out Brexit concerns at a World Trade Organization (WTO) meeting in Geneva.
Australian officials said their beef and lamb exporters had already been hit after several Brexit delays.
Brazil said Brexit plans for Northern Ireland could breach WTO rules."
"project fear" strikes again.

Anybody know what all this Arron Banks stuff is all about?
-
• #25469
Seems his twitter got hacked or something like that, and he is a very unhappy bad boy of brexit now.
Irony klaxon as his insurance company got fined 120K by the ICO for using customer details to send Brexit related materials...

I tried to see if i could find any of the data but all I could find were faked screenshots on Twitter. The Raab "Northern Monkey" thing is clearly faked for example.

"Boris Johnson is hijacking Brexit." This is a good soundbite from Corbyn at the manifesto launch.
Minus one Tory/BXP voter is maybe good? ;)
Many people don't get believed when they voice concerns about Settled Status...you could see it on the BBC article when the government actually explained people get turfed out if they don't register. If you want to fight that fight, I can dig out the info.
But talking politics at work is always risky. Anyways, good on you for standing up for her friend :)
Meanwhile, I saw a headline of the Torygraph the Tories are offering a pact with Froggy McChickenFace after all. Hm, hopefully just a rumour?
Or maybe it is a good thing, with moderate Tories going to the LibDems this may make more run. I really hope Cummings/Boris can't count and their strategy will backfire.
