Cos it fucking pissed it down every day I used nearly everything. Couple of bits I wish were lighter. I didn’t use the tiny folding stool this time but I really hate sitting on a wet floor so I’d prob take it again.
Could have got away with less food.
I got back on Tuesday as my knee fucked out on me after 5days.
I’d like a lighter/smaller tent, mat and bag ideally but not really anything else I’d change. My mat and bag completely fill an ortlieb which I didn’t think was an issue til my mate in Edinburgh showed me his thicker, warmer mat that deflated to no bigger than a coke can.Looking forward to packing for warm rides again in a few months...
Oh and the bridge club rides like an absolute dream, really pleased with it. There were times I wish I had tractor tyres and times I wish I had slicks but the riddlers were ok.

Still sounds like quite an adventure :) Bad timing with the weather (much like my attempt to go out for lunch today).

With a rear dérailleur you need to put the wheel completely forward, the screws don't do much but help a little with positioning.

Looking for a Disc trucker 56cm for 26” frame/fork if anyone’s got one to sell!
- Edit, just ordered one.

Still a bit on the fence about this, but I'm thinking of selling my Straggler f&f (52cm, black). Going to have a think about a fair price but wanted to see if there was any interest? I've wondered this aloud here before and not gone through with it: the difference being the bike is currently in my loft, semi-dismantled this time :-) -

What sleeping mat was this out of interest?
I have a neoair xlite and even that doesn't go down that small.

While we’re talking fence-sitting potential sales I may or may not be possibly thinking of selling my monkey butt red 56cm steamroller in vgc.
I also need to think about price and whether or not I should sell it as space currently not an issue. Just not using it now I built a geared shopper. Pic is freshly built but if I decide to sell will do fresh ones.

Whole bike or frameset? I've always kinda regretted selling mine
-
• #1418
Will be whole bike(except tyres+basket) but will split if I do sell.
Fear of regret is what’s holding me back as I know I’ll never find another monkey butt red. Let me have a serious think next week. -

Okay. For the record I'd likely only be interested in f&f. But you should probably keep it.

I’m currently being told I should keep mine by my wife, in direct contradiction of the usual gender-stereotype bicycle ownership based tropes.

Please help me out.
I was looking at the surly web page straggler section QA and found the following statementThe 52cm Straggler comes with the 650b wheels only, the 700c wheel option comes on the 54cm-62cm frame sizes.
Can someone please confirm that the 650b wheel diamater models will NOT accomodate a 700c wheel. The opposite is also supposed to be true ??
Thanx

Is this not just referring to what wheels are supplied with the builds? My 52cm straggler fits 700c wheels with plenty of clearance.
-

Looking at the geo chart there's only 5mm difference in chainstay length between the 52 and smaller and 54 and larger sizes and fork length is the same for all models so can't see that wheels that fit one one fit the other. I think they just don't offer 700c builds for the smaller sizes.

It's more the proportion than anything, toe overlap, bottom bracket height etc.
Which sparked an idea to mount the mudguard stay somehow to the end of that adjustable screw - meaning the back part of the guard could move in and out with the wheel, which would be nice. But not what you're asking at all.
