Not too tall (174cm) so I thought briefly about 26", that's a great idea. Thanks for the suggestions, yours seem great really (like your other bikes haha)!

If you're going to ride rigid offroad (mtb not gravel), 29" really is better than 26" imo.

I'm starting to think I need an umbrella. I'm happy to pay a bit more to get something that isn't shit and can survive some heavy gusts of wind. Want a relatively small collapsible one.
I had a Fulton one but the handle went all manky. Any other brands to look at?

Could also look at new on one bootzipper to

Collapsible will always be a compromise strength wise, smaller will be weaker due to more joints in the hardware.

Dealing with surface rust on a raw frame - is white vinegar or coke in spray bottle and aluminium foil sheets the only way to go if I don't want to give it away to get it blasted?

How pricey do you want to go? Best bet is to go to James Smith and sons on New Oxford Street.

If you go to Ince you’ll get actual (old stock) UK made hardware for the full length umbrellas. I think their canopies are woven in Italy but otherwise all put together in Spitalfields.

Cable pull ratio question.
@mdcc_tester would know the answer. My old flatmate has Sora ST-3500 shifters. His RD is damaged and needs replacing.
Will a Shimano RD-R3000 be compatible?
-
• #99340
Yes. Shimano recommend the RD-R3000-SS for cassettes with a largest sprocket between 25-32t, and RD-R3000-GS for 28-34t.

I have this Sony CD/DVD player
I want to take it with me to little events and have it play one or two tracks of a few CDs.
The problem is there are no physical buttons to skip tracks (there's ony eject, play, and stop), and I do not have the remote for it.Ideally I would like to get a very small and simple remote, which does just what I need (play/pause, skip tracks).
What I see is "universal remotes", which do much more than I need - and also, as I understand it, one has to "teach" those with another remote what signal does what.Any ideas?
Thanks! -

For £15 you could buy a cd Walkman job

Why don't you rip the CD tracks and play them from a phone/iPod equivalent?
-
• #99345
tester would know the answer.
I would know where to find it, and I told you all only a few days ago
-
• #99346
But what's the actual answer? From your actual fingers.
-
• #99347
Can you not set up your phone as a remote? Most can.

Thanks @landslide and @mdcc_tester
This Shimano page is dreamy.
I was confused because of my last attempt to pair 10 speed Tiagra 4600 & 4700.
EDIT - That Shimano Compatibility Chart should be pinned to the top of the technical page

I want to use this CD player because a) I already have it and b) because it has a nice DAC built in and puts out a strong signal.

Because I want to play the CD-quality tracks from the CDs I have.
If second hand look for:
surly karate monkey
Kona Unit
Singular Swift
Pipe Dream
Cotic
Genesis
How tall are you? You could probably get more options if you didn't mind 26" wheels.
Then any old steel frame with disc tabs added and with on one rigid forks, painted could work.
