I love good slide (I'm terrible and haven't tried it in years.) I've an old mate back in London that can do astonishing stuff. He was busking in the west end once years ago when a 50 drops in his case. Looks up and it's Billy Gibbons, who says "sounds like you've got that thing worked out real well.' (Or something similar.)

Dublin slide legend N.C. Lawlor.
That's a heavily customised Avalon he's playing.

What a beauty... 😍

It's gorgeous! Such a great price too. Great alternative to a Jazzmaster I reckon! Wouldn't be a big job to change to Soapbars either if desired...

i'd prefer a super sonic

Three models. Three colours.

TBF the other two are a bit shit, one looks like that crappy Guild that I see everywhere (my mate got given one as an endorsement, FFS, it's a twenty quid guitar!!!) and the other one looks like a really dodgy Melody Maker... The Silhouette looks great tho' stealing that name is ludicrous, I saw the Stones once and Keef and Ronnie were both playing MM Silhouettes for most of the show, would still bang one if I could... Did you get rid of yours, @rickster?

Nice. Looks quite a lot like an updated Bobcat, one of which my mate has just bought used.

Well I've been learning the guitar for all of about 2 weeks and I've already bought a second one. Decided I didn't get on with the body shape of the Jackson, being the "dinky" size it's just too small for my to comfortably use on my knee.
So I went to guitarguitar in Camden, played around with a few and picked up an Esp Ltd 256.

Is there something about that that you like in particular? I've never seen the appeal of Jaguar/Jazzmaster-shaped guitars. To me they look bent (as in deformed, not a homophobic slur).

An olympic white Fender Jaguar was the first guitar I fell in love with, I think they look fantastic... I took me thirty five years to actually own one... Wonky is good!

They're brilliant guitars. I picked up an Ltd 330 (basically the same as that with a cheaper paintjob) and it's one of my favourite guitars. Really ticks that heavy, humbucky, deep tone itch that I'd only ever been able to scratch with a proper Gibson Les Paul before now.

EHX have made a Ram's Head Big Muff reissue. It's not my favourite variant but I'd be interested to hear how it compares to some of the excellent clones (Wren and Cuff, Vick, North, Stomp Under Foot etc.).

JHS guy did an episode where he A-B'd the OG with the reissues and he came to the conclusion that they were identical... Which is odd as their QC BITD was all over the shop so they can vary a hell of a lot...

I've not seen that JHS video - the EHX reissues or his Rams Head/Muffuletta?
There's a Reverb video from a few years ago that said the OG Rams Head used about 20 different circuits over time due to component availability.

I finished all the rough work on the body of my Les Paul this weekend - added the binding channels in and glued and smoothed the binding.
I think all the significant carpentry is now done - I only really need to finish the neck profile and volute and add the tuner holes before gluing it all together in preparation for finishing. Not totally satisfied with the shape of the carve yet either , so a little finessing still needed there.

Actually - a question. I've got a telecaster body I want painting. I used to paint them myself, but can't be bothered turning my shed into a spray booth for the length of time it would take me to do it again.
Has anyone got a recommended refinisher (or anyone on the forum who might be able to do it)?

Standard forum answer: armourtex, black matte powdercoat.

Mine is currently with Rexter Guitars. I’ve not got it back yet, but the photos of the work in progress look good, and he previously did a friend’s Jazzmaster to a very high standard. Would point out, though, that he seems to have a lot of work on, and it may take some time.
I bought a slide about a year ago. Still haven’t used it. In fact, I bought two as the first didn’t didn’t fit my tiny fingers.
Might dig it out now?!
