Or they could be the bolts to that hold the two halves of the calliper together.

These two bolts give you adjustment, I didn't want to break anything but as soon as I took the pads out and saw the pistons were all the way in I figured these must be adjustment bolts.
No you just need to push the piston all the way back with a flat headed screwdriver carefully.
