  • What are the reasons people have to objecting to a Mcdonalds?

    I gather the proximity to school thing is a big reason now days although most of the kids in our area get £1 fried chicken instead.

    I'm interested because a friend of mine owns two McDonald's franchises and his planning applications actually received community support, on the basis of job creation for young people and somewhere safe for people to hang out. They are not in London though.

  • With that one, it was going to be a 24hr, takeaway only McDonalds which would have affected the nearby residents and brought a shit load more Uber eats mopeds into the picture. Also, the line of properties it sits in are owned by the same owner, who has doubled rents in recent years, forcing the cafe that used to be in that spot to close. A cafe that gave funds various charities that support vulnerable women.
