    I don't think this is correct. It's an envelope in the sense of boundary or perimeter of successful test points, thus defining known safe flight parameters.

  • Envelopes in aerodynamics from one of my old text books, still on the bookcase next to me. I’m very embarrassed that I’ve forgotten it.
