He's still a Tory, just a temporarily inconvenienced one - if he win's he'll be invited back in.
Edit: And accept the invitation readily

• #24406
His exit definitely does move the average Tory position further right.

Such grubby deflection from Rees-Mogg. What an absolute penis, he knows exactly what he’s doing.
Soros was open about donations to the pro-European OSF at the time so it’s unlikely there is a genuine story here, just propaganda?
This plus Priti Patel’s speech ...
We’re being governed by absolutely despicable people.

Sub 4chan anti semitic dog whistling that will go largely unremarked upon.
When does the punching start?

I find it way too far a stretch to believe that the Hungarian government were in the same building as the cabinet yesterday, and that was the day that JRM chose to spew a Hungarian origin anti semitic trope in parliament and this was all a coincidence.
The Soros conspiracy theory is extremely important to the Hungarian government, it was almost a non spoken item in their manifesto. The fact that Hungarian tabloids got to post photos of JRM and basically say "SEE! Even the British government don't trust the jews!" is powerful to their government.
The whole thing fucking stinks.

In my youth, I once saw somebody remove a milk bottle from a fridge at a house party, insert the neck of it into his anus and try to take shit in it, before removing it and putting it back in the fridge.
I'm telling you this so you fully understand what I mean when I say that the contempt to the British people being shown by various Tories right now is probably the most offensive thing that I have ever seen.

what's in it for hungary? why would they sour their relationship with the EU26 just to suck up to their alt-right pals in the UK gov? bit of a high risk strategy for orban, both in terms of his standing w/the rest of the visehrad group and the EU26.
-
• #24421
why would they sour their relationship with the EU26
LoL!
{ Apologies ^ this was a bit glib – Orban's entire appeal domestically is textbook strong-man politics and it's working quite well for him. He's in conflict with the EU who have imposed sanctions in response to his government silencing media, hobbling NGO's who aid migrants and interference in the judiciary }
-
• #24422
can't get any kind of a special trade deal with the UK because being in the EU doesn't allow this... and can piss off his EU neighbours who he actually has to carry on working with. seems like a dumm strategy to me
