Oh so NOW the DUP accepts the "backstop", well, has it been
1: blackmail
2: another billion bung
3: pressure from voters as with Wrightbus going wheelsup (which is part the fault of Brexit but mostly mismanagement and sending donations to a church instead of keeping it for the business) means more joblosses are -really- too much even for them
4: ????However, the WA won't be voted on anymore w/o changes to it, but maybe they will find a way to roll it in glitter

There's something so excruciatingly cringey about Danny Dyer...

They over played their hand didn't they? 10 MP's are important when their support gives you a majority of one, less so when their support still doesn't get you a majority .

I had a lovely chat with him at Glade Festival a few years back. Everyone was a bit “twatted” IIRC. I thought he was a thoroughly nice fella.
Probably not an exceptional political analyst, but better than Piers Morgan.

They are so proud of themselves right now it is not even funny.

How on Gods Green Emerald Island they think this is going to work I don't know...letting Stormont have a say is nice in theory, but what if it votes "nope" when there still is no solution setup OR we have Direct Rule

Yeah, he plays to a crowd but he's a really nice guy in person.

That final “Twat!” is the finest example of comedy timing in recent UK tv history.

prorogue 2 : just when you thought it was safe to go back into the house of commons
-

And the longer Stormont is suspended due to the DUP's intransigence the dafter they look too.
Quite how Johnson thinks giving control of the backstop to, in effect, the DUP is better than having it determined jointly by the UK and EU is something of a mystery.
-
• #24315
Well, he needs the DUP to support this deal doesn't he?
-
• #24316
you take that back.
-
• #24317
But does he? He’s at -43 in terms of his majority. I think he’s just bringing them along as a beard.
-
• #24318
Indeed. Unless a lot of Labour MPs go the Full Hoey or unless the former Tories are bribed into supporting the Johnson deal the DUP's position is totally irrelevant. But then it's all irrelevant as the prospects of Johnson getting a deal agreed with the EU is next to zero.

Bunch of cunts. None of this would have happened if they hadn't gone into coalition with Cameron.

And the number one reason they went into coalition with Cameron? Because Brown wouldn't step down to allow another leader in his place - if he had, it would have been a Labour-LD coalition rather than what we ended up with. Interesting context for today in some ways.

If Brexit happens, will a bunch of real estate suddenly appear for sale in Spain? Asking for a friend...
